150 Unit Briley Farms Community Coming to Nearby Town of Oakland

The nearby town of Oakland has approved a new neighborhood which will have 150 new single family homes. The new community, called Briley Farms, will be located both east and west of Jefferson Street, near Lake Apopka.  The new community will share a border with the Oakland Nature preserve and some frontage on the famed West Orange Trail.

So far it looks like Briley Farms will be completed in two phases. East of Jefferson Avenue we will see a 45-acre phase one appear and west will feature the 70-acre plan of phase 2.

From what we can see in the conceptual plan, there will be smaller lots focused in the central portion of the site with larger lots taking on the perimeter and the northern portion near the Lake.

An entrance to the neighborhood will be added off Oakland Avenue at Jefferson Avenue. However due to this there is talk about adding a turn lane due to a blind spot to help try to prevent any accidents.  Town officials have also been considering lowering the speed limit along Oakland Avenue to 25 mph as part of a plan to implement golf cart zones and link the town of Oakland to downtown Winter Garden’s golf cart district.
