Inventory has been tough to find in today’s housing market. Many builders are quoting build times of 10 to 12 months to “to be built” homes due to many factors such as labor and supply shortages. A few years ago build times we quoted at 6 to 8 months. Another way builders have pivoted to navigate shortages plaguing today’s economy is to move to more of an inventory style build. Rather than a home buyer selecting a lot and floor plan to go on it then selecting their upgrades, the builder makes all of the selections and often releases the home for purchase when it is 45-90 days from completion. Many of these homes even go on a bid system and get auctioned off above their original asking price.
We may finally be starting to see some inventory trickling back onto the market. Four homes were recently released in The Canyons at Highland Ranch final phase. This community is a resort style community located at the corner of Old Hwy 50 and Hancock Rd. It features parks, large pool, cabana, splash pad, pet stations, and 4 miles of walking trails as well as convenient access to the South Lake Trail and West Orange Trail.
